Telenor launches TeleDoctors in Pakistan
(15 April, 2008) Telenor Pakistan launches expert medical advice within nationwide reach of its subscribers. This service is the first of its kind in the country.

The service offers Telenor subscribers easy and cheap access to experienced doctors for all sorts of medical issues. Acknowledging the cultural sensitivities of gender the service also offers choice between female and male doctors.
Accessibility has been kept as the core of this service, both in terms of geographic location and monetary disparity. A wide spread of the Telenor subscribers in Pakistan can now access affordable quality medical advice.
By simply dialing 1911, subscribers can receive health services such as:
- Medical emergency assistance
- Symptomatic diagnosis, treatment and referrals
- Medical report and advice
Grameenphone launched a similar medical advice and consultation service, Healthline, in Bangladesh in November 2006. Last year the service won the GSM Association Award 2007 under the "Best use of Mobile for Social & Economic Development" category. Read more about the Healthline Service.
