Sale of ESAT stake

(Oslo 19 April 2001)Telenor has completed its sale of its 49.5 per cent stake in Esat Digifone, and the transaction was settled according to notice of 06.02.01. The proceeds from the sale was about NOK 10,8 billion, providing an accounting profit of approx. NOK 10,1 before tax. After the settlement, Telenor’s net interest bearing debt is approximately NOK 10 billion.
