Prepaid calling cards go satellite

Telenor customers can now use prepaid calling cards for Inmarsat Mobiq and Global Area Network (GAN) services, allowing customers to talk for as long and as often as they wish from their own prepaid account.

The Prepaid Calling Card provides access to units of Inmarsat airtime. The card automatically provides access to voice, fax, data and image transfer as well as e-mail and Internet services.

The new system is simple to use: no application procedures are required, the card is easy to verify and reload, the account balance can always be checked and the system is completely secure, as each Telenor Prepaid Calling Card has its own unique account number and PIN code. In addition, the Prepaid Calling Card system allows multiple users to access the same terminal, thus solving any billing problems which may occur.

“We are proud to launch this user friendly and easy solution for our customers, which makes prepaid communication via satellite as simple as placing a standard call, sending a fax or making data transfer,” said Anders Kallerud, Manager of Personal Communications for Telenor Broadband Services.

The Prepaid Calling Card is now available from Telenor dealers worldwide.
